Pike Peak Trekking

Pike Peak Trekking is a freshly opened trekking trail in Solu region of Nepal. This trek rewards you with enchanting views of snowy peaks, along with high altitude lakes. Pike peak trek, also known as High Solu is just perfect for nature admirers who enjoy being outdoors. This trekking trail locates in the Solukhumbu-Everest region. Not to mention, it is the only peak in Nepal from where one can view many mountains including four of the highest peaks in the world, Mt Everest, Mt Kanchanjanga, Mt. Lhotse, Mt Makalu and others such as Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kantega, Kusum Kangaru, and Mera Peak. Moreover, the trek is also renowned for its breathtaking sunrise and sunset views.

Trek to Pike peak rewards you with the surreal and best of sceneries of the mountains, terraced fields, and forests of rhododendron, hemlock, and magnolia. Most of the locals herein Pike peak trek are Sherpas and Tamangs. For this reason, there is a massive Buddhist influence when it comes to culture, traditions, and architecture with century’s old monasteries, Buddhist stupas and mani stones decorating the entire region. Also, yak herding can be seen in different places. However, the major attraction of this trek is unique landscapes and sceneries.

Dudh Kunda which is a sacred lake is one of the highlights of Peak Pike trek. Lying in the shadow of Mt Numbur the lake appears white in color and hence, the lake was given the name Dudh Kunda which in Nepali translates to ‘Milk Lake’. Also, this region is diverse in flora and fauna. Five different species of rhododendrons are found in this region. The best time to see the beautiful flowers bloom is during the spring season. During the time you will also get to observe the Sherpa festival called Dumjee. The monks perform a sacred dance called Chham which is incredibly enchanting.

Since the trek has been ventured by few trekkers, the trail lacks proper lodging facilities. One has to mostly depend on the camping tents however there are few teahouses and lodges on the way. For this reason, camping is essential and has to be organized with a guide, porter and a cook. All in all, the trek offers a great chance to visit the unspoiled trekking trails in the Everest region ensuring some wonderful memories.
