It situates 30 km south-west drive from Kathmandu along the Araniko highway. The town of Dhulikhel is best known for its historic temples and houses. Different communities of Newar, Brahmin, Tamang, Chhetris, and Dalit reside here. We start the Namobuddha hike at 08:00 am in the morning with a one hour drive to Dhulikhel and 4 hours day hiking trip to Namobuddha and return back hotel in the late afternoon 4-5 pm.

Dhulikhel Namobuddha Day Hike Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Dhulikhel, Hike to Namobuddha and Drive back to Kathmandu
The hike starts with a drive to Dhulikhel from Kathmandu. After having our breakfast, we head towards Dhulikhel. Upon reaching Dhulikhel, we start our hike to Namobuddha. The hike would take about 4 hours. It is a small village which houses very old Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery which is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal and one of the holiest in the world. It is known as the place where the Buddha, in a previous life as a prince, gave his body to a starving tigress and her cubs. You will get amazed to see the number of historical temples and monasteries there. After the exploration of the place, we drive back towards Kathmandu by 5:00 pm on the same day.
