Tamang Heritage Trek | Tamang Heritage Trekking

Tamang Heritage Trek takes through the culturally rich trail populated by Tamang community who are closer to the Tibetan traditions as it touches the Tibetan border in the north. It is a famous trekking route in Langtang Himal which is suitable for short time trek. The trek offers you with off the beaten trail letting you experience the newly developed route along with magnificent mountain views. Everyone who has past hiking experiences has a plus point for this trek but no practical skills are required for this trek.
The trek comprises of the gigantic White Mountains, varied landscapes, and scattered Tamang locale. This serene trek is also famous for the exploration of nomadic lifestyles of the local people. En route, the trail offers panoramic mountain views of the nearby peaks and soaks in the natural hot springs at Tatopani. Continuing north towards Tibet soak up the heritage and appreciate a local fort, monastery and exquisite local architecture of the Tamang homes. Not to mention, you can experience some of the most alluring scenery in the country including terraced green farmland, thick forests, and the peaks of the Langtang Himalayas, adjacent to the Tibetan border.
The lush mid hill villages of Nepal and the culture of the people who live here are showed in Tamang Heritage trek with towering peaks, generous forests, hanging bridges and random snow leopard sightings in the epic background. Also, you can experience the famous Tamang Hospitality at Birddim where homestay facilities are provided. After this, we head towards the narrow valley of Kyanjing Gompa at 3,900m down the Langtang Khola relishing magnificent views.
The jaw-dropping views of the snow-clad peaks such as Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal and the Tibetan vicinity from Nagthali viewpoint makes the journey amusing. Not to forget the Tamang people and their unique culture and traditions that you will get to explore during the trek. The warm hospitality of the Tamang people and exploring the ancient heritages, houses make this trek a delightful one. You wouldn’t want to miss this amusing short cultural trek to Tamang villages.

Best time to visit
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the best months for this trip. Although this trip can be taken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for every trekker. In the month of April and March, the forest is reddish with the Rhododendron flower which is also the national flower of Nepal.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi
Day 3: Trek from Syarbubesi to Gatlang
Day 4: Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
You will heartily be welcomed by our representative at the Tribhuwan International Airport. From thereon, you will be dropped at the hotel for relaxing. After that, you will be given a brief orientation of the Manaslu trek by our representative.

Day 2

Drive from Kathmandu to Syarubesi (on a bus)
The journey begins with a drive to Syarubesi, that would take about 7 - 8 hours. Driving through the stretch of Kathmandu, on a scenic mountain road makes the journey a pleasurable one. We drive past many small villages enjoy its rural beauty. Syabrubesi lies in the Langtang National Park, a famous trekking region in Nepal. Syabrubesi has also designated the gateway to Langtang Valley and is a popular pit-stop of the route to Langtang.

Day 3

Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang
Today we start our trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang. The trek would take about 6 hours. The trek begins with ascending up to the viewpoint from where we get a glance of the stunning Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung range. Further, we climb down to the Golijung village and pass through many Tamang villages. Finally, we reach Gatlang where we stay overnight.

Day 4

Trek from Gatlang to Tatopani
After having our breakfast, we head towards Tatopani. It would take about 6 hours to reach Tatopani. Descending to Thangbuchet near Chilime village, we traverse through the hanging steel bridge. Enjoying the stunning mountain views, we move further towards Tatopani. Upon reaching Tatopani, we can relax in the hot water spring there.

Day 5

Trek from Tatopani to Thuman
Today we start trekking towards Thuman via Brimdang and Nagthali. The trek would take approximately 6 hours. Ascending through the trail we head to Thuman through Nagthali. It is popular as a meditation for the Buddhist priests. We traverse through the Nagthali peak which is the highest point here. Further, we gradually descend down the Thuman village which is a Tibetan culture influenced Tamang village.

Day 6

Trek from Thuman to Briddim
Today the trek descends through the Timure village. Further, we walk past Rasuwagadhi, the historical war place. Dwelling through the Rhododendron forests, We trek down towards Briddim village. The village is influenced by Tibetan culture and Lifestyle. We also visit a monastery in the village called Dukchu monastery and explore the unique culture here.

Day 7

Trek from Briddim to Lama Hotel
After having our breakfast, we leave Briddim and head towards Lama Hotel. It would take about 5 hours to reach there. Leaving the trail of Syarubesi we move ahead towards Lama Hotel. The trail takes us through the ridge of rhododendron. Further, descending through Ghopche Khola, we reach Lama Hotel.

Day 8

Trek back from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi
Today we trek back to Syarubesi from Lama Hotel. We reach to Syarubesi in about 6 hours. The trekking trail is going to be different compared to the last trekking trail in Langtang region. Dwelling through the villages, we move ahead indulging in their unique culture and traditions. We stay overnight at Syabru village.

Day 9

Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu
Our trekking journey has come to an end. Today we head back to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi. We drive to Kathmandu on a private bus. Collecting all the memories of the trek we leave towards the ending point of our trek. We reach Kathmandu and our representatives will drop you off to your hotels for relaxation.

Day 10

Onward Departure
After having your breakfast, you can have a relaxing time shopping in the city. At the evening our representatives will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Not to mention, you will be taking tons of memories of the trip.
