Langtang Valley Trekking | Langtang Trek

Popular for its precise alpine mountain valleys, Langtang Valley Trek takes lets you explore the northern region of Nepal. Langtang region is also known as the ‘valley of the glaciers’. Situated in the Langtang National Park this trek offers you an opportunity to encounter many animal and bird species, the Red Panda being among the most popular one. The trail takes you past high elevation meadows where you can enjoy the sightings of wild sheep and yaks grazing in the afternoon sun. Trek initiates with driving along the Trishuli river heading north from Kathmandu towards the Trishuli bazaar. The real walk starts from Syaprubesi. Crossing Dhunche we will reach Syaprubesi, a Sherpa village. Heading ahead we pass through the impressive ridges through the local villages. As we walk pass many forests, we may have a chance of spotting local wildlife like the musk deers, Danphe etc. Arriving at Langtang village, the Tamang people show their hospitality with such a hearty welcome.  

The Langtang trek is short yet astounding one satisfying us with amazing sceneries, valleys, and glaciers.  Surrounded by panoramic views of Mt. Langtang and the trek also features spectacular views of Dorje Lakpa and Shisapangma the tallest peak in Tibet. Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel

You will heartily be welcomed by our representative at the Tribhuwan International Airport. From thereon, you will be dropped at the hotel for relaxing. After that, you will be given a brief orientation of the trek by our representative.

Day 2

 Drive to Dhunche

After having our breakfast, we take a drive to Dhunche. It takes approximately 3 hours to reach Dhunche from Kathmandu. On the way, you will get to see rural houses, dense green forests and the Trishuli river. Dhunche in inhabited by a majority of Tamang people. Explore the culture of Tamang people and enjoy the warm hospitality during your stay here. Overnight at Dhunche

Day 3

 

Trek from Dhunche to Bamboo village

Today we trek from Dhunche to Bamboo village. After an early morning breakfast, we start our trek to the bamboo village. The trek starts at around two to three hours through the village followed by an ascend to reach the bamboo village. On the trail, you will be amazed to see the beautiful bird species at the forests. You will finally Lama hotel where you will get to relax. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4

 Trek from Lama hotel to Kyanjing Gompa

Today we will head towards the impressive Kyanjing Gompa. Most of the trekking today will be downhill. We will pass through the beautiful Tamang villages. On the way, we see the Langtang glacier and Langshisa Kharka along with the yak pastures. After the trek, we head back to Lama hotel that will take approximately 5 - 6 hours. Overnight at the Lama hotel.

Day 5

 Acclimatization at Kyanjing Gompa

We spend all day at Kyanjing Gompa today. Acclimatizing will help you explore more of the Kyanjing Gompa. Moreover, it would further help you in adapting to the higher altitude. Overnight at Kyanjing Gompa.

Day 6

 Trek from Kyanjing Gompa to Lama Hotel

After spending a day at Kyanjing Gompa, we head back to Lama Hotel. Wildering through the forest, we take the trail to the Lama hotel. It would take approximately 6-7 hours to reach the hotel. On our way back, you get to witness the mountains that you could not ascend. Overnight at Lama Hotel.

Day 7

 Trek from Lama Hotel to Syarubesi

Early morning we have our breakfast and head towards Syarubesi. We head towards Syarubesi trekking along the Langtang river. Marching through the rhododendron forests and oak forest, we move ahead enjoying the enchanting views of snow peaks. Lying on the outskirts of  Langtang National Park, it is covered by green hills. Overnight at hotel

Day 8

 Drive back to Kathmandu

After having early morning breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu on a tourist bus or a jeep. Approximately it would take 5-6 hours to reach Kathmandu from here. After reaching Kathmandu, you can relax in your hotel room and get ready for the farewell dinner. Moreover, you will get welcomed by the cultural program. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9

 Acclimatizing at Kathmandu

Today we spend our entire day exploring the beautiful Kathmandu city. Also known as the city of temples, you can visit the world heritage sites such as Swayambhunath Stupa, Bouddhanath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10

 Departure

After having your breakfast, you can have a relaxing time shopping in the city. At the evening our representatives will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Not to mention, you will be taking tons of memories of the trip.

    • Lightweight walking boots & a pair of track shoes 
    • Guaranteed Waterproof & rainproof jacket with hood or a poncho.
    • Windproof, waterproof trousers are necessary on all treks going above 10.00ft.
    • A tracksuit useful for wearing in camp and in the tent.
    • 2 pair of loose fitting long shorts/ skirts.
    • Loose cotton pants, long sleeved –shirt is particularly suitable for avoiding sun burn.
    • A pair of gloves. Leather with lining and woolen are best.
    • 1 pair of sandals to wear in the cities and in camp.
    • 2 pairs of thin and 2 pair of thick woolen socks.
    • Down jacket, Woolen shirts and thick sweaters for winter December, January & February.
    • Duffle bag or kit bag to carry to gear while trekking.
    • Daypack: toilet items, camera, film towel, soap, a boot etc. 
    • Water bottle, sunglasses
    • 2-4 large plastic bags to separate clean clothes from dirty ones.
