Panchase trek / Trek to Panchase

The trek to Panchase is a short but very rewarding one, it is extremely scenic and very under trekked compared to the rewards one gets from the experience. Considering the natural beauty is very much in evidence and a good proportion of the trek is through beautiful rhododendron forest and the trekking days provide some pristine mountain views. Panchase trail heads southwest from Pokhara, then rounds north into the Annapurna Conservation Area through subtropical valleys and rice fields to more high ridges of rhododendron forest.  There are many opportunities on the way to sample very different ethnic cultures, including Brahmin, Magar, and Gurung. A fantastic day at Ghandruk lets you to familiarize with Gurung community.
Panchase is also a famous Nepalese pilgrim destination where people travel to to pay respect to the souls of their ancestors.  In short Panchase is a classic trek hard to beat if you only have a few days to spare. If you have more days you can combine this trek with a trek to Poon Hill and beyond.

Other related packages: Annapurna base camp trek, Jomsom Muktinath trekking, Sarangkot-Australian camp trek, A trek to Kayer lake.
